MEAT SAMOSA

Meat Samosa



These fried snacks eaten throughout India. In the south, they are filled with meat, in the north with vegetables, and during the feast of Diwali fills often with sweet fillings.

Ingredients

For pastry
  • All Purpose Flour -1 Cup
  • Vegetable Oil-1 Tablespoon
  • Salt- To Taste


For Filling
  • Finely Chopped Chicken/Beef   -250g
  • Turmeric Powder- ½ Teaspoon
  • Pepper Powder- 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Chicken Masala-1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilly Powder-1/2 Teaspoon
  • Onion (Medium Size)- 3
  • Garlic (Crushed) – 1 Teaspoon
  • Ginger (Crushed) -1 Teaspoon
  • Green Chilly (Crushed)-1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder -1/4 Teaspoon
  • Pepper Powder -1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilly Powder-1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala- ½ Teaspoon
  • Coriander Leaves (Chopped) -Few
  • Curry Leaves (Chopped)-Few
  • Salt-As Required
  • Oil- For Frying


Method

Filling

STEP-1
In a pan mix chicken /beef, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1/2tsp pepper powder, ½ tsp red chilly powder, salt and enough water.

STEP-2
Cook well and make sure water died up.

STEP-3

Place a pan in low fire and add 1tbsp of oil.

STEP-4
Add finely chopped onion into this and saute for 3 minute.

STEP-5
Add green chilli, garlic; ginger one by one and saute.

STEP-6
 Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp pepper powder,1/2 tsp red chilly powder,1/2 tsp chicken masala, ¼ tsp garam masala and salt mix well and keep for few more minutes.

STEP-7
Finally add coriander leaves and curry leaves.
Turn off the fire and let it to cool.


Pastry

STEP-8
In a bowl mix all purpose flour, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, salt and enough water to make soft dough, knead the dough until it smooth.

STEP-9
Keep it aside and cover with wet cloth for 15-20 minute.

STEP-10
Roll the dough in to thin round shape.
Cook these in a pan for few seconds (take out before turning brown) 

STEP-11
Cut each round shape into 4 pieces.

Samosa

STEP-12

In a bowl mix 1tbsp of all purpose flour and enough water to make thick batter (paste) and keep aside.

STEP-13
Fill one tbsp dry chicken/beef masala in one of the piece of dough. Then fold into triangle shape.
Seal sides of the cone with batter.

STEP-14
Do same as all piece of pastry.

STEP-15
Heat oil in medium high flame and fry samosas until it turns light golden brown color.
Drain excess oil and serve hot.
