Cauliflower Fry
Fried cauliflower, also known as zahra mekleyah (Arabic: الارنبيط المقلي, زهره مقليه), is a Levantine vegetarian dish served cold or hot, consisting of fried cauliflower, often accompanied by tahini sauce, lettuce, parsley and tomatoes, served on pita bread or sliced bread, often grilled or toasted. It can also be eaten as a sandwich using pita bread, sprinkled with cumin, salt, and lemon juice. This is a simple and quick cauliflower recipe. You can serve it either as a snack or a starter.

Ingredients
- Cauliflower (medium size)
- Red Chilli powder-1.5 tsp
- Turmeric powder-2-3 pinches
- Salt- as needed
- Oil- for deep frying
Method
STEP-1
Cut
the cauliflower into bite-sized pieces.
STEP-2
Boil
the pieces in water with salt and turmeric. Turn off the flame, let the pieces
stay covered for 10-15 minutes and drain the water completely.
STEP-3
Take
the cauliflower pieces in a broad vessel, sprinkle chilli powder and salt.
STEP-4
Mix
well so that the chilli powder coats the cauliflower, else sprinkles a little
water to make it stick.
STEP-5
Heat
oil in a pan and cook the florets over medium flame until golden brown and
crisp.
Serve
hot.
