OREO ICE CREAM CAKE

Oreo Ice Cream Cake


An ice cream cake is a cake that incorporates ice cream

Prep Time                                            

15 min +refrigeration               

Ingredients
  • Oreos-1 packet (14-16 0reos)
  • Chocolate ganache-1/2-3/4cup recipe for chocolate ganache here
  • Vanilla Ice cream-41/2cups
  • Oreos-for decoration
  • Food colors-pink,green,orange



Method
STEP-1
Take ice cream out of freezer to soften.

STEP-2
In a medium bowl, combine Oreo crumbs and ganache. Mix together and press into a plastic wrapped cake pan.

STEP-3
 Set crust into freezer for 10 minutes to solidify.

STEP-4
 In a bowl, measure out 11/2 cups of ice cream and mix in green food color. Spoon onto crust when crust is set. Set into freezer for 20-30 minutes until red layer is firm.

STEP-5
 Measure out 11/2 cups of vanilla ice cream and colour with orange food color. Pour and smooth out on top of green layer. Set into freezer for 20-30 minutes to freeze.

STEP-6
Measure out 11/2 cups of vanilla ice cream and colour with pink food color. Pour and smooth out on top of green layer. Set into freezer for 20-30 minutes to freeze.

 
STEP-7
When all three layers are assembled, freeze for 3-4 hours, or overnight.

 STEP-8
To remove cake from pan, prepare a hot water bath in a large pan. Place cake into water for 2-3 seconds and remove. This will release the ice cream from the sides of the pan and allow you to slide the bottom of the pan through the mold.


 STEP-9
Once removed from the pan, remove the plastic wrap, and touch up any areas needed with a icing spatula.

STEP-10
Finish by adding oreos as border around the sides of the cake.
