GREEN BEANS WITH TOMATO AND ONION

Green Beans with Tomato and Onion








Green beans, also known as string beans, or snap beans in the northeastern and western United States, are the unripe fruit and protective pods of various cultivars of the common bean.

Ingredients
  • Beans -400g (chopped)
  • Onion -1 chopped
  • Finely chopped ginger-1 piece
  • Crushed garlic cloves-2-3
  • Red chilly powder-3/4 tsp(up to your spice level)
  • Crushed ginger-1tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1tsp
  • Salt –as required
  • Water-200ml
  • Finely chopped tomato-2 small
  • Mustard seeds -1tsp
  • Oil-3tsp

Method

STEP-1
Pour oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.

STEP-2
Then add onion along with crushed garlic and chopped ginger 1 tsp. Saute until onion become translucent.

STEP-3
Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder and crushed ginger, saute in low flame for 1-2 minutes.

STEP-4
Add beans along with water and salt. Close the lid and cook in low flame for 10 minutes.

STEP-5
After that add tomatoes and cook for 10-15 minutes.
